Struggling to Find a Chartered Accountant for EPF Withdrawal Refund – Any Suggestions?

Binay Hazarika
Hi, I am an ex-employee of HP and I quit the job in 2013. However, I applied for EPF withdrawal after completing 2.2 years of service and received Form 16 from the Income Tax Department. The issue now is that I need a Chartered Accountant to assist in filing the return process as per HP's suggestion for the expected refund amount. Could anyone please help me find a Chartered Accountant?

Thanks in advance. Note: The Finance Manager of HP informed me that there is no Chartered Accountant available in HP for this matter.

Firstly, I am a bit confused with your query. You have mentioned EPF withdrawal and Income Tax Return. I do not see any correlation between these two.

Secondly, it is not necessary to hire the services of a CA to file an IT Return. It is a straightforward process, and you can file your return online. You can spend some time online and do it yourself. At most, seek help from someone senior or knowledgeable, especially since you seem to be doing it for the first time.

Thirdly, hiring the services of a CA for filing a simple IT Return can be a costly affair. Instead, simply approach any accounts or tax consultant. Even an Article Clerk or Apprentice in a CA's office will be of great help at a much lower cost.

Thanks.
