Is an MBA Through Correspondence a Good Choice for a Housewife Seeking Employment?

Sandeep Muttathil
Hi All, Warm greetings. My sister has completed a B.Com (Tax) and has 2.5 years of work experience as an executive at Reliance Fresh and First Source. She is a housewife and wants to pursue an MBA through correspondence to secure a job. I have heard that it is usually preferred for individuals who are currently employed. Please advise if she can pursue an MBA through correspondence or not. I would also be happy to hear any other suggestions.

With regards,

Let me inform you that a Correspondence MBA Degree is not widely accepted in the corporate world. This is because it lacks practical class sessions, role-plays, and industrial visits. If she pursues a correspondence MBA, she will have fewer chances of securing a job based on that qualification.

Consider a Part-time MBA

Instead, she can opt for a Part-time MBA, which requires a minimum of 3 years of work experience. Since your sister has 2.5 years of experience, she can inquire with reputable management institutes about this option. Part-time MBA sessions are conducted on weekends, offering much flexibility. This way, she will be able to manage her family and studies effectively.

Regards,
Sumeet
