ESI Registration: Can Employers Pay the Advance Contribution During Registration?

Dear Superior, can we make the advance payment for ESI registration, i.e., advance contribution, at the time of employer registration?

In Maharashtra, if you are a contractor, then at the time of registration under ESIS, the Corporation asks you to remit the total contribution in advance for the next six months based on the projection of the first month. This amount paid in advance is then adjusted against your actual contribution payable thereafter.

I do not know whether this practice is applicable in every state right now.

The amount advanced to ESIC at the time of registration is adjustable against due contributions.

Adjustment of Advance Contribution

For instance, if an advance contribution of Rs. 35,000 was made and a 1st-month challan was generated for Rs. 8,400, would the total Rs. 8,400 be adjusted with the advance contribution, or would only a partial amount be adjusted? I hope my question is clear.
