Understanding PF Deductions for Employees Over 58: What's Required and What's Optional?

rajendrapali
Is it compulsory (or voluntary or mutually agreed upon between employer and employee) to deduct the PF if:

1) A person over the age of 65 newly joins?
2) A person is in continuation of employment and attains the age of 58 or above?

I am not asking about the pension scheme. I know that if a person is over 58, then they are exempt from the pension scheme. I am specifically inquiring about PF.

If the employee is above the age of 58 years, there is no need to deduct EPF. If this answer is not satisfactory, please respond with details for a more comprehensive explanation.
