Fake certificate racket busted, 26 held - The Times of India

When reference checking and verifying candidates for positions, you need to check everything very carefully. Judging by the scale of this operation, it would not surprise me that members of CiteHR will have been cheated by this scam and hired people with dishonest credentials.

Issuing of Fake Certificates: A Growing Concern

Issuing fake certificates is a regular feature. The findings of the police are only the tip of the iceberg. In Karnataka, the racket of issuing false Khata certificates, caste certificates, and experience certificates related to WIPRO and other IT companies is going unnoticed.

During my service in the PSU of the Government of Karnataka, it was customary practice to refer to the caste certificates of newly recruited candidates. Only after confirmation from the issuing authority or department were appointment orders issued.

In our PSU, if a Jr. Assistant acquires a degree qualification or an Accounts Officer acquires an M.Com, as an encouragement, two advance increments are sanctioned. Whenever requests for such increments are received, after confirmation from the concerned educational institution, increments are released. I feel that referring to the concerned organization and getting confirmation is one possible way to check the genuineness of experience certificates.
