Enrolling Old Employees in ESIC Now: Will Skipping Past Contributions Cause Issues?

rameshnumber@gmail.com
Our company did not enroll some employees in ESIC. Today, I have enrolled them on the website (enter old date of joining). My question is, if I enroll old employees' data today, will any problems arise in the future because we can't pay previous contributions?

If you input the actual date of joining, you will need to deposit the shares from the backdate, and it is advisable to submit the old shares. However, it will be evident that you have not submitted the shares during an audit. At that time, you will be required to pay along with penalties.

Put the date of coverage of the establishment under ESI or the actual Date of Joining (DOJ), whichever is later, as the date of joining of employees on the ESI website.

Furnishing a wrong date of joining by the employer in respect of his employees is a false statement liable for prosecution under Section 84 of the ESI Act, 1948. The contribution from the date of coverage or from which date the unit is coverable is payable by the employer.

Thank you.
