Can Both of Us Get HRA? Seeking Clarity for a Couple in State and Central Govt Jobs

I am serving in the Indian Army, posted in Delhi, and staying in a hired house in NOIDA, while my wife is a lecturer in the Haryana government, posted in Rohtak and residing there. Neither of us has been allotted a government house.

Clarification on House Rent Allowance (HRA)

I kindly request clarification on the following:

- Are both of us entitled to HRA? If yes, could you please provide the Government of India (GOI) authority for the same?
- If only one of us is authorized, then who is eligible to receive it? (I have a higher pay grade)

Since you both are residing in separate cities and paying rent separately, both of you are entitled to claim HRA from your respective institutes without the need for any authority to claim HRA.
