How Should I Address My Boss in SMS Communications? Seeking Your Advice!

gargi.c2010
I am currently employed by a Group of Companies. There are instances where I need to send SMS communication to employees with a Cc to my Boss. My query is, how should I address the message to my Boss? Should I write: Cc: Sir, Cc: Mr. XYZ, or Cc: Sri XYZ? Your guidance on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

What do you call him/her in general? For example, I address my directors as Navdeep Sir and Vipin Sir because we have two directors, and it helps specify which director we are communicating with. Using "Shri" may not be suitable in this context. "Sir" works when addressing one person as "Sir."

If you also address him by name followed by "Sir," then in the CC section, write:
CC - .... Sir

I hope this clarifies your query. Let me know if you need further assistance.

In a professional environment, especially within the organization, Mr. XYZ is always preferred over Sir or Sri. He may be your boss but not necessarily to others to whom you are sending SMS. Hence, my suggestion is to add "cc: Mr. XYZ" if you are not comfortable using just the first name of your boss.
