HR Vs Business Development

hi,
am vishal (mba Hr,global management,marketing) working as an business development manager in an consultancy firm but have lotsa opportuinties for HR role in an software firm but as business developement is mid level job and also has the scope more than HR tell me which field should i choose as..,

What choice kicks you the most...waht causes dreams to form, what causes more smiles......
It amy not be more money or more fame it may have hurdles...
but if the first few questions give you an answer towards a choice..chose that

i would say that the opportunities in both software and consultancy firm are tremendous. but out of my experience, working in a software industry would give you more exposure & knowledge towards business development in various fields or platforms as you will be working right the initial stage of project initiations and implementation, whereas in a consultancy firm, your job is limited to the assignment given to you. coming to the growth levels, software companies would give you a lot of opportunities to interact with the direct clients and send you to different geographical locations if you really dynamic in showing your performance I dont say that consultancy firms will not give you such opportunity but it might be limited compared to software firms.
And there is a lot of career growth opportunities in Business development these days. anyways i am sure you would take a right decision. take care

hey vishal forgot to mention one more thing. you will have amazing incentive programs( which sometimes is more than your salary) if you choose business devleopment as your career. most of the companies will have a good incentive plans for BD.
