Dear Sir/Madam, I have been working in a public sector firm for the past 5 years. I took a two-day leave approved by the sanctioning authority with station leave permission. However, after the expiration of my leave, I remained absent from my duties. I then sent a mail to my organization six days later requesting a 4-day extension of leave. Unfortunately, I did not receive a reply. Subsequently, I submitted a medical certificate to support my leave request and asked for an extension of one month. My organization requested a signed letter along with the original medical certificate. After complying with this, I further extended my leave for an additional 20 days. Once again, they asked for a proper medical certificate covering the entire period, as my initial reason for leave was personal and not related to sickness.
I have now requested another extension of leave for twenty days and informed them via email. However, they continue to assert that I am on unauthorized leave. Recently, I received a letter by registered post stating that I must return to work within three days of receiving the letter, or strict action will be taken against me in accordance with company policy. I am concerned whether this unauthorized leave could lead to termination.
Kindly advise on the implications of my situation.
Thank you.
