Navigating Career Gaps: Can a 5-Month Break Affect Your MNC Job Prospects?

Gajaviveka21
I started my career as a contract engineer. After completing one year, I was properly relieved due to family reasons. In the meantime, I studied additional courses for the next five months. I then secured a job in an on-role process.

Question on Career Gap Acceptance in MNCs

Here is my question: For MNC companies, how many months of a "Career Gap" can they accept? I have a five-month gap between the two companies. Am I eligible to apply to MNCs?

Kindly update me.

Thank you.

There is no time gap criterion. The only aspect to be considered is the justification for the time gap. As long as you have the right skills and an honest approach, you can continue applying for MNCs.

A time gap of 1 week without a valid justification is significant, whereas a time gap of 3 years with a valid justification is relatively minor. Do not focus solely on the time lapses; prioritize enhancing your skill sets and staying updated with knowledge relevant to your job. These factors should not deter you from pursuing opportunities with an MNC or any other company.
