Curious About Per Diem Rules in India? Seeking Insights on Business Travel Expenses

I have been looking for the Per Diem official rates and regulations of India regarding business travel expenses (meals allowances and accommodation), but I have found nothing. Could anyone please tell me if it is common practice in India and if there are rules that companies must follow in paying Per Diems to their employees who leave on short business trips? Where could I find the rates for domestic and international trips as well as the conditions (number of hours, deductions, etc.)?

Company Policies on Per Diem Allowances

It's all dependent on company policies. There are no statutory regulations. Normally, it is fixed on basic expenses and cadre-wise entitlement on facilities. For example, I am reimbursed at actuals on the expenses, but there is no specific allowance.
