Hi all, I need a list of all the required first aid box contents for a factory where more than 1000 workers are working.

First Aid Box Contents

Please note the following items:

1. Cotton Patti
2. Bandage
3. Burnheal
4. Dettol
5. Eye Washer
6. Scissors
7. Antiseptic Tubes (such as Betadine)

Additionally, you can include some tablets as well. Please ensure that the date of issuing and the date of expiry are clearly displayed.

The State Rules for the Factories Act specifically provide for the items to be placed in the First Aid Box. Kindly check it once.

Clarification on First Aid Box Requirements

The subject matter may be clarified by reviewing the following documents for First Aid boxes as requested:

- (a) Chapter V, Section 45 of the Factories Act.
- (b) Rule 69 & 70 of the Punjab Factories Rules 1952.
- (c) First Aid leaflet issued by the Directorate General Factory Advice Service & Labour Institutes, Mumbai.

Sorry to differ with you all. One is not permitted to place tablets of any type in the First Aid Boxes put up on the work floors for the workers. Tablets or drinkable medication can only be kept in the HR Office/Doctor's Room under lock and key and are to be given by a trained or qualified person only.
