Stuck in a Job Transition: How to Handle a Resignation Rejection and Move Forward?

karthick manikandan
Hi, I am working as a Software Engineer. I have submitted my resignation through email with a 45-day notice period and requested to adjust a 10-day shortfall in the notice period from my full and final accounts. The resignation was sent to the Senior Manager. However, the Senior Manager responded, stating that my resignation cannot be accepted at this stage of the project and asked me to complete some new tasks within the notice period; otherwise, they won't accept my resignation.

I have a good offer in hand, which I have accepted, and I need to leave the present company to join the new company within 10 days. Unfortunately, the present company is not relieving me. So, what should I do now? How can I overcome this issue? Please help me resolve this matter.

Thanks and Regards.

1. You need to serve a 45-day notice period as per the company policy. 2. You need to discuss with the company you have been offered a position at, informing them that you are required to serve a 45-day notice period. 3. This decision entirely depends on the management as they will consider any shortfall. It is advisable to complete the notice period and clarify the situation with the company that has offered you the position regarding your notice period. 4. Personally request the management to consider the shortfall; they may view it from a humane perspective.

I have corrected the spelling and grammar errors in your text and adjusted the paragraph formatting for better clarity and readability.

Handling Project Completion During Notice Period

If you have a project that is not yet completed, how can the employer provide relief during the project? You are required to complete the project assigned to you within the notice period.
