I resigned from my previous company on 19th March 2014. As per the three-month notice period, my date of leaving was 19th June 2014, which I have already served. I recently received a call from an MNC for an interview in April 2014, followed by a final interview in June 2014 and a pre-employment medical examination in June 2014. The joining date is set for October 2014.
Disclosure Issue During Interview
The issue is that I did not disclose during the interview that I had already resigned. The reason for this omission from my CV and interview discussions was my concern that it might create a negative impression as a candidate who was already leaving a position. However, when I am required to submit my release letter upon joining, they will discover the situation from the leaving date mentioned in that letter.
I am worried if this will pose a problem at the time of joining. If they inquire why I did not inform them earlier, how should I respond? Please assist.
Reason for Resignation
For context, the reason behind my resignation was the company's decision to downsize its workforce, leading to the layoff of 120 engineers, including myself, due to the company's economic downturn.
Currently, I have no job offers besides the one mentioned above, and I already have a career gap of nearly six months.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
