Should We Email the Full List of Promotions or Keep It Private to Avoid Hurt Feelings?

Vinove
Respected Members,

I am working in the HR team of a medium-sized IT company. We recently completed our PMS cycle for the last quarter, and there have been a lot of promotions in almost all the teams. Please suggest if it will be a good idea to publish the list of all promotions (along with the names of employees) on a common email ID of the organization. Though I feel that people who have been promoted should be acknowledged by everyone, others who have not been promoted might feel offended.

Please suggest!

Hi Prashant,

You must put up the list on the board. It is an honor to display the promotion list for the promoted employees. You can't please everyone all the time. Those who deserve it, get it. It shows that the company really appreciates their good work.

Now, it all depends on your management or you, how you perceive it.

Thanks,
Bhavna

Hi,

You can inform all the employees through e-mail, as an Organisational Announcement, about the promotions by giving a brief description of the promotee including their date of joining the organization, educational and technical qualifications, and the new designation within the department.

This can be an ongoing process for each and every promotion that takes place from time to time. I do not think that other employees should be offended by this management act, as promotions are not given to each employee.
