Dear Rutvikc,
ESIC code is allotted to your company and not to any of the project sites, department or branches. Once this number is allotted, it lasts till the existence of the company. Therefore, you can not close your ESI A/c. or code.
You need to inform the corporation about the fact that you do not have any coverable employee from this date onwards and therefore no remittances are being made by you. You will start making remittances under the code on having the coverable employees.

Sir(s),
1. In my opinion, in case the closure of the company/firm is permanent, then you can submit a request to the appropriate Regional/Sub/Divisional Office of ESIC to which your unit was attached for permanent closure of the Code Number.
2. In the letter to be written to above authorities, you will be required to enclose the copies of documents which may prove that the company/firm has actually been closed. Such copies of documents may include- disconnection order of electric connection, sale of machinery, surrender of factory licence, etc. etc.
3. In the letter to be written, you may request the authorities to get the inspection of records of your unit conducted immediately and permanently close the said code number.

Dear all,
The query is not much clear and what I understand, they undertake either civil or mechanical jobs at different locations and do not have any coverage of principal place. The compliance at the project location may have been made independently or through principal employer.
If my presumptions are clear, then you have to intimate the closure to the authorities concerned i.e. Regional Office / Branch Office and arrange final inspection. For any other query you can call us at 9816033142 or mail at [Login to view].
