Bring Your Kids To Work Day - nice & effective way of improving inter-personal relationships

Hello Everyone, Found this quite interesting & looks to be quite a nice & effective way of improving inter-personal relationships.......from multiple perspectives: employee relationships, personal relationships & family relationships and consequently improving work culture & productivity.

I think this can be replicated/emulated in quite a few Organizations where CiteHR members work....albeit with some changes to fit into the Indian work environment.

It would be nice if such members can share their experiences of implementing this Practice in this Forum.

This is similar to the Family Day, where the families of the employees were invited to see how the organisation looks like, how it functions. A detailed presentation on what the employee would do on a normal day would be made. We used also show how work and play mixes through simulations or role plays.
It used to boost the employee morale and helped curbing attrition to a great extent .

Not sure if the Kids-to-Work-Day includes spouses.
I find it also a bit similar to the Practice of allowing families into the workplace--notably Factories, Plants, etc--on Viswakarma Puja day in North India [falls on 17 Sept, 2014 this year].....except that it's more of a Jumborie sort of environment on this occasion, than any specific focus from the Organization-end.

Dear TS,
I work in Technical Call Centre with 6 Days working. I usually conduct emplyee engagement activities on Saturdays as we have less call volume. One day I planned for "Children Day Out" in office and asked employee to bring their spouses with children.
This was a real fun !!
Team mates were playing with kids of their manager/Team leader/ Trainer during their break time and had a great break from regular call centre work schedule.
Got feedback from male employees that by visiting the work place spouses could understand the work pressure and now there is a positive support extended from wives :) :) :)
