Leave Policy - Hr Assistant

Hi ,
I am ritika.I am new to HR field and i started career as HR assistant in a company.This company is newly established.there is no set of rules.As i am new i facing difficulty her.So please help me out .At present can anyone suggest me about leave policy.???

Dear Ritika,
Good Morning...could you please specify the industry type in which you are currently working.
Please read model standing order (under standing order act) which help you to understand tems of employement apart from leave rules.
Generally companies have following types of leave :
1.Casual Leave
2.Sick Leave
3.Previledge Leave
4.Comp-Off (on account of woking on rest days / Public holidays)
5.Maternity Leave
6 Special Leave ( in case employee does not have leave balance ,however on account of exigencies he may allowed to proceed on leave)
The leave policy is desinged based on work condiditions/environment....however Maternity leave is governed by the Maternity Act.

Dear Ritika,
You can have provision of leave as under
1. Earned leave and compensatory off as per the Factories Act and Rules made thereunder.
2. You can have Maternity leave as governed by the Maternity Benefit Act.
3. Casual leave for 7 days.
You can begin with the above and improve as per the requirement.
