One of my colleagues retired after attaining 60 years of age. He had 9 years of service. He has not yet been given the withdrawal benefit. Part of the EPF subscription is also held up. The reason for this is not clear. It is said that the contribution should not have been collected after 58 years of age.

Pension Contribution Guidelines

Pension contribution is only applicable up to the completion of 58 years. However, if it is mistakenly remitted to the pension fund, it will be reverted to the PF account. You may contact the Regional PF Commissioner to divert the pension contribution to PF as well for the withdrawal benefit for the 7-year period in the Pension fund.
