Got Selected But Didnt Get Offer Letter For Two Week

Recently on Jul 19 I attended one interview for the position of .Net developer in one MNC located in Chennai. Cleared two rounds of technical discussion and project manager said you are selected, i will give good comments to HR about you.Further you discuss with HR he said. In HR round, She said I got good comments and we discussed about the internal project that am selected for(gonna commence within a month), benefits, salary expected, notice period(she expects me to join within 30 days but my acutal notice period is 45 days so I said I can go for buy out option) and she also asked me about my personal details and she noted that down. She also asked me to send her my last 3 months salary slip and I can expect a call from her on 21 July(Monday) to further discuss about breakup plan.

But still now I didnt get any response from her through mail or or through call. I mailed her twice on 22nd Jul and 28th Jul, called her twice on 23 Jul and 30 Jul. At first she said give me one day time that she is waiting for approval from management. After some days that is today I called her back and she said she was on medical leave, so she asked me for some time and she will update me about it.

What doubt I have is, whether am rejected for the position? Why its taking so long time to process?

Am I annoying HR? Still am in race? She even not spending 2 mins to speak about, everytime she is asking for time. Delaying might be the reason that am not selected for that position?

If I didnt get any response from her, should I call her back?

Any suggestions are feedbacks are really appreciated.

No one can vouch whether you would get a call or not, except the company. That is the reason, you don't see any replies here.
Since the project is going to start only in Sep., company might have decided to defer your DoJ by few days
We do not know, whether the project went into last minute hurdle or not
It is not over yet. Still, keep looking for other opportunities too.

Yes you are right HR4NATION, project that I got selected for was dropped off. This I came to know after keep on bugging HR for 2 weeks after my interview.

Seeing my interest in that particular company, they asked me to attend another interview for another project on (Aug 02).

Somehow I am glad that am interest is recognized, and I did attend the interview. This time they asked me to take up only one round of technical interview.

Even that went good and I got status that am got selected on the same day. Even I asked HR whether I will be getting offer letter this time or will it get delayed.

Another HR said it wont take much time since its already approved project so it wont get delayed to release offer letter, you may expect a call from us on monday(Aug 04), but I didnt get any call from them so I called him and requested the status.

He said due to client approval its getting late to release offer letter, you might get status within friday(Aug 08) or next monday (Aug 11).

I again asked whether am selected or not, he confirmed that am got selected for this project we will intimate you about the status.

Now what are all bugging me is, HR will conduct interview without approval from client for respective project? Is it possible to cancel me at this stage?

What kind of approval do they need it from client? Without salary negotiation with me can client approve my selection(salary negotiation went for first project so HR said we will proceed with your first proposal)? Could you please explain me what is signs to be?

Any helps or advise are greatly appreciated.

In some cases, approval is a mere formality. There have been instances where my candidates have recd offer letter, after a week from announcing selection. It was not even IT or technical job and there was no client either. The reason was, the higher management were not available for a week and a formal approval had to be taken before issuing the offer.
In your case, as the HR is so certain, it is just a matter of time. Be hopeful
