Navigating Pension Fund Withdrawals: How to Handle Multiple PF Accounts When Not Employed

AmitKJn
I have worked in two different companies, so I have two PF accounts.

My Questions:

1. Is there any trick to withdraw the pension fund if the total contribution is 10 months, i.e., 5-5 months for each PF account?
2. Can I transfer one PF account to another account? However, I am not currently working anywhere.

Herein below is a clause from form 10C:

NOTE: A withdrawal benefit is not admissible if membership is less than 180 days, excluding the non-contributing period.

Firstly, you need to get a job and enroll in both companies' pension plans. Also, if you have not already done so, ensure that your PF fund has been transferred to the new provident fund account. Failure to do this will result in the inability to withdraw from the pension fund for a period of more than six months, as previously mentioned by you.

Dear Commohla, It's a situation-specific question, and here I want to clarify that I have not withdrawn any amount from my PF account using Form 19. I want to withdraw amounts from both the PF account (using Form 19) and the pension account (using Form 10C) for both companies. There could be a problem where EPFO will release only my PF amount.

Merging PF Accounts for Pension Fund Access

In such a situation, can I transfer or merge both PF accounts so that I can access my pension fund as well?

In this scenario, you need to get both accounts transferred to a new PF account; otherwise, you can only avail of the PF amount. As already mentioned by you, there is no other option in the current case.
