The enhancement of the wage ceiling from ₹6,500 to ₹15,000 per month, in principle, has been decided by the PF Authority as per the recent circular issued by them. However, the date of implementation is yet to be published. Please wait for the notification regarding the enhancement of the threshold limit to ₹15,000 per month. In the notification, you will find more details, including the effective date.

A notification has been issued by the PF office a few days ago, wherein it is mentioned that the PF ceiling from ₹6,500 per month has been hiked to ₹15,000 per month, effective from 1st September 2014. Hence, PF contributions for September shall be deposited by the 15th of October 2014 in accordance with the new notification.

Until August 2014, all employees drawing a salary up to ₹6,500 per month (basic, DA, and retention allowance) were covered under the PF Act. It is important to note that PF contributions for August shall be deposited by the 15th of September 2014.

Due to the aforementioned new notification, employees earning a salary of up to ₹15,000 per month as basic, DA, and retention allowance will now be covered under the PF Act starting from 1st September 2014.

You can view the notification by visiting the EPFO website at www.epfo.

Thank you.
