Feeling Stuck Waiting for an Offer Letter from a Big MNC? Need Advice on Next Steps

shashjyoti
Dear Sir/Madam,

I have been selected by one of the biggest multinational companies for an aftermarket sales profile. Ten days ago, they asked me to send my current company offer letter, the last three months' salary slips, and my expected salary. They also informed me that I have been selected for the position and that they are in the process of seeking approval from the General Manager. However, twelve days have passed, and I have not received any updates from their end. I reached out to the HR department to inquire about my offer letter, and they mentioned that it is still in process and will take some time.

Request for Advice on Offer Letter Delay

Could you please advise if the information provided by the HR team is accurate? Is it common for offer letters to take time to be released in a large multinational company? I am uncertain about what steps to take next, and I would greatly appreciate your suggestions.

Thank you,

Written Offer Confirmation

Unless you have an offer acceptable to you in writing, you don't have an offer. Irrespective of what has been verbally told to you, you should make further proceedings, like resigning from your present company, only after you have an acceptable offer in writing.

I don't want to make you nervous, but even in the largest of companies, things may change fast, despite everyone's best intentions.

I agree. Do not resign unless you have an offer in hand and verify whether it is genuine.

The approval process will not take long; it depends on the urgency of the vacant post. As rightly said by Mr. Hardeep Sodhi, until you receive something in writing, you don't have an offer. So do not be in a hurry; concentrate on the present job until you get the offer. All the best for your bright career.
