Facing Termination for IT Security Breach: Can I Still Secure a New Job?

hodsap
I am in the notice period. I have been disciplined and terminated for sending confidential information. I used to keep a backup of all work-related documents and references to my personal email. Unfortunately, once I sent a tender agreement without noticing what was in that email. I thought it was my work-related document. I have an offer from another company, but in the termination letter, they mentioned the reason for termination as an IT security violation, which is a big issue. Will I get the job there, or is my career over? Kindly inform me of the HR standpoint on this.

Seeking Support After Termination

Do you still know someone working with your ex-employer who can agree to help you? Please request a fresh relieving letter and a clean background verification. In case they disagree to help you, find a leader in the industry who is ready to endorse you and provide a letter of recommendation. You need trust-building initiatives. Identify someone who is working with the prospective employer and already knows you. Seek his/her support to vouch for your capabilities.

Human beings are bound to make errors. Finding a second chance is not difficult. Speak to the Head of HR and explain your situation. Seek their support in furthering your career.

Wishing you all the best!

Regards,
