Paternity Leave for Male Employees in Case of Miscarriage
Opening a thread to understand the views of experts on "Paternity leave for a male employee in the case of miscarriage of his wife."
There are maternity benefits and leaves for female employees; we are mostly aware of this. We also know the provisions of leave in case of abortion for them. I am seeking your valuable advice and views on leave for a male employee in case of the miscarriage/abortion of his wife. As per the law, we do have provisions for leave for a female employee. The question is, why is there no such provision for a male employee? The family undergoes turmoil and pain. In this fast-paced life, families are so nuclear that a husband is often the only one to support his wife through such times.
HR practices have changed, and policies have been developed for better work, employee, and company relationships. We always need to change for the betterment, and this should be continual. Your views may help me to formulate and implement a policy on this.
