Is Keeping a Register Mandatory Under the Maternity Benefit Act Despite Annual Returns?

Question About Maternity Benefit Act Compliance

I have a question. Is it mandatory to maintain the register under the Maternity Benefit Act? However, we are submitting the annual returns to the concerned government authorities under the same act every year.

Please give me your valuable suggestions on the same, and I request you to share the soft copy format of the registers if it is mandatory to maintain.

Please refer to Section 2(b) wherein every employer registered under the S&E Act or any other act in which ten or more persons are employed, or were employed, on any day of the preceding twelve months, must maintain the maternity register. The register should be kept in hard copy format (the soft copy format is enclosed for your reference).
