Is Group Insurance Mandatory for Company Staff?

Please can anyone justify if it is mandatory to have group insurance for company staff? My company does not have any insurance cover for our staff. Please provide details regarding the subject matter.

Group Insurance and Employer Responsibility

Group insurance is not mandatory, but the employer is responsible for the compensation payout if anything untoward happens inside the premises.
