Transitioning from Software Developer to IT Recruiter: What Skills Should I Highlight?

VimmiGrover
I am an IT professional with over 8 years of experience in software development. I would like to know if the recruitment industry accepts people from a technical background to work as a recruiter. If so, what should be highlighted in a software developer's profile to land an IT recruiter job?

Thanks,

There is no need to highlight anything in your past job experience. Your job itself is a major highlight that shows you are a guru and know what it takes to be a software professional. Your software skills are the "key" to any resourcing/recruiting team you join. These skills of yours will be an advantage to you, enabling you to source the right candidate and read through CVs full of software jargon, projects, and codes, something a generalist may fail to scan through and understand.

I would say your "attitude to help job seekers," "to attain their next exciting challenge and provide them with that dream matching job profile, which will help them excel in their career growth," would be the most important aspect I will try to focus on and search for in your personal traits if I have to select you as an IT Recruiter/Lead.

Good luck.
