Considering a CA Course: Can I Skip the Foundation and Do Part-Time Articleship?

bangnis
My name is Nisha. I am working in an organization. I completed my B.Com with 63% in 2004. I am planning to apply for the Chartered Accountant course now. Do I need to apply for the Foundation course for this program, or can I go directly for the Intermediate course? I also want to know if, for this course, we need to complete a 3-year articleship. Can I do articleship part-time? Working is my basic need as it is my only source of income. Kindly suggest. Also, please provide me with the complete process of becoming a Chartered Accountant and any Chartered Accountants or auditors' consultants' names and contact details under whom I can do articleship in Bangalore.

Kindly help.

Thank you for the updates. It's of great help. I just went through it and found out that I have to undergo 3 years of practical training, but before that, I have to do 9 months of practical training and then attend Group I or both exams. What does that mean? Could you please elaborate?

No practical training is required to appear for the IPC course. You can appear in the Intermediate (IPC) Examination/ATE after completing 8 months of the study course as of the first day of the month in which the examination is to be held.

After passing either Group I or both groups of the Intermediate (IPC) Course, you can join articled training. It is essential to complete the Orientation program and 100 hours of ITT training before starting the Article training.

Thank you.
Regards.

Oh, okay. This means that I have to finish my 8-month study course and then enter the exam. Actually, when I checked with the ICAI Bangalore Branch, we need to compulsorily complete 9 months of articleship to attend this exam.

What does this study course entail? Do we need to work under some auditors during this tenure?

Thank you, Mr. Ram, As you are a Chartered Accountant, may I ask you a few questions? I still have some doubts in my mind. It would be great if you could clarify these doubts.
