"I Have Not Accepted Appointment Letter Against Job Provided By A HR Consultancy"

vikysales
Hello,
Recently I have been send to a company for interview Through a HR consultancy. According to agreement I will have to pay Consultancy against my job in 2 installments. I have issued to chaques in favor of consultancy. But later on I have realised that its not possible for me to pay. But I have already given interview and become selected by company but I have not accepted appointment letter given by the company.
But consultancy is claiming compensation from me ? Will I have to face any legal issue from that HR consultancy?

Taking the money from the candidate is not justifiable but the consultant and candidate if agreed mutually then the candidate to be paid after he got the salary from the new company. Accepting the offer seems by the candidate and not joined seems to be the normal practice find in the IT sector that they will negotiate with the offer recd and thereby sometime he can get more ctc in considering with the last offer..
I am against the money taking from the candidate. The consultant should take the money as per agreed only from the employer .if the employer is not ready to pay the service charge better all our consultancy community not to encourage such employers and then only the practice not paying to the consultant will go.. be proffessional & serve the candidates for getting the right job.
This is my view on the money taking frm the candidate.

Dear Vicky sales
Since you have already given two cheques to the consultant, you better accept the appointment letter and then pay the agreed amount. The HR consultant can produce the cheques and get it dishonoured then proceed against you for cheque bouncing.
Also it is not a good practice to agree to something and then back out. A healthy behavioural pattern would be to go through with commitments irrespective of whether they pinch you or not.
As far as consultants go if I were an employee I would not touch even with a barge pole a consultant who will ask for money from a candidate
All the best

Dear Robin Varghese,
I have done stop payment. So there is no chance of cheque bouncing.
Warm Regards,
Vikysales
