Hi Friends, I have been working for one company for the last 8 months, but I have not received a hike letter yet. When can I expect to receive it from the company?

Thanks,
Arjun

This depends on your company's policy. Normally, all companies will conduct appraisals yearly, either at the end of the financial year or before the end of the financial year.

Apart from what Aditya has mentioned, you must have completed your probation 2 months in advance. Usually, the company conducts the appraisal through your line manager, and based on that, only one person receives their increment. Check with your company to find out when the appraisal is conducted. If you are due for an increment after the appraisal, you can speak to your Line Manager or HR Manager.

No such provisions for periodical increases, increments, or promotions are laid down or specified in any labor laws. They depend upon the policies framed by the companies and usually differ from one another. Since companies do not want to lose employees who have gained experience in their respective fields and aim to keep them engaged, remunerative growth is extended to the workforce from time to time based on their capabilities, behaviors, exposure, discipline, and, above all, the prosperity and financial capability of the company concerned.

Therefore, it is better to approach your own HR department to seek a solution for any doubts you may have.
