Facing a Dilemma: How to Handle Misleading Job Experience in Interviews?

Hi everybody, I am working in a public sector organization as a computer worker since 2009. I have completed a BS in Computer Science from GC University. After applying for many jobs, I was called for an interview at a software house. There was a scheduled technical and HR interview for a Software Engineer position at this particular software house about a week ago. I cleared both interviews. I have applied to many software houses, but I was only selected here.

A little problem has arisen now because management wants me to resign and provide them with a copy of my resignation and a 5-year experience letter. This is because I mentioned on my CV that I have been working as a software developer for 5 years instead of as a computer worker. I have all the programming skills, which is why I cleared the interview. Can anyone please tell me what I should do now?

Your nickname actually reveals what you have done, big Phool. Gosh, it's a bit obvious, dost; all will be asked for experience certificates. If you were good at your basics, why did you fake experience? I feel you should have written what you do. If you have the courage and honesty, tell them the truth and ask if they are still interested in employing you. If not, forget the offer. At least now you know that you are capable of passing tests, and you don't need to fake.

Since you have the skills and potential to clear such technical as well as HR rounds, you may have the opportunity to establish yourself in the market without deceiving others. Go straight to the point and speak the truth if you have the courage, or forget about employment.
