I am working with an NGO called Chaitanya. Our NGO focuses on women's empowerment through Self Help Groups (SHGs). These SHGs come together to form a federation. Chaitanya assists SHGs in the formation of federations. Once established, these federations become separate entities, and Chaitanya's role is primarily to provide guidance and capacity building for these federations, among other things.
We currently have 48 federations and 110,000 SHG women across 18 districts in Maharashtra. Each federation typically has a staff consisting of 1 Manager, 1 Accountant, and 4 field staff. As of today, the total staff strength across all federations is 300.
In my role as an HR manager, I am responsible for maintaining the Management Information System (MIS) for these staff, keeping track of leave records, handling occasional recruitment processes, and overseeing salary-related matters. Our trustees are expecting me to take more initiatives.
