Employer Not Paying PF Contributions: How Can I Claim My Money and What Steps Should I Take?

srini_155
I worked in a company for 2.5 years. Four months ago, along with me, around 20 members were asked to resign from the job. I have now joined a new company. I want to claim my PF amount, but when I check my PF balance, it shows only 5k or 7k. My company deducted Rs. 780 monthly from my salary. From my understanding, the company has not paid my PF money, right? When I asked them to sign my PF form, they were not ready to do so. What should I do now? How can I claim it? I don't know when they will deposit my PF amount into my account. Do I have to wait for that period to claim it? The same situation applies to all 20 employees; their PF accounts have also not been credited.

First, check whether the shown PF account balance is updated or not. Most of the time, it is not updated.

Secondly, if it is updated and still there is a dispute in the balance and the company is also not ready to sign your documents, then you should go to the Regional PF office and lodge a complaint against the same.

Don't worry, no one can stop you from withdrawing the PF as it is non-attachable property.

Thank you.

You have to claim PF through your employer. You can send the claim forms through your employer, and your claim will be settled.

If any employer has not paid, it is the duty of the PF Inspector to ensure that it will be deposited with interest.
