Ex-Employee Lied on Verification: What Actions Can We Take Legally?

supriya_123
One of our ex-employees, who worked with us for only 3 months, later absconded. After 6 months of this incident, we received an employee verification request for him. He has submitted false documents (experience letter & payslip) and has also given false information regarding his tenure, designation, and salary to the verification/future company.

What Action Can Be Taken Against Him?

Awaiting reply.

Thanks & Regards,

Give the facts for the verification request. Mention in the Remark column that he was absconding and the letters submitted are not yours. This will be more than enough action against him.

Did you send him a warning letter when he absconded? If yes, mention that. If not, you may issue one now and send a termination letter in due course.

Legally, you may lodge a police complaint under section 420 for fraud and falsification of documents.
