Is My $6500 Salary Fair? Seeking Info on Tamil Nadu's Minimum Wage for Private Employees

Hi Folks, I am currently working in a software company since December 2010. I have been receiving a very low salary per month since joining, with only a $1000 increment each year so far. Additionally, I am unaware of the minimum salary set by the government of Tamil Nadu. With a total experience of 3.6 years, my current monthly salary is only $6500.

To answer your direct question, the State Government issues a notification every 6 months specifying the minimum wages payable for each zone (4 zones in Tamil Nadu), skill category, and industry. You need to look at the latest notification and identify the relevant salary levels.

Please remember that the notification talks only in terms of Basic + DA. So, your Basic + DA in your salary must be above the minimum limit specified in the notification. If you have other allowances in your salary, they are not to be counted for this purpose.
