Minimum Wages Increased In Punjab W.e.f. 01.3.2014 On PROVISIONAL BASIS

The State Government has further increased the minimum rates of wages for different categories of employees in respect of several Scheduled employments on a provisional basis, as the matter of shifting Consumer Price Index numbers from the existing CPI index of (1987-100) to (2001-100) series is under consideration. The said increase is only on a provisional basis. Thus, the State Government has enhanced the minimum rates of wages w.e.f. 01.03.2014. The increase in wages for monthly rated employees is Rs. 200.00, for daily rated employees is Rs. 7.70, and for hourly workers is Rs. 0.96. The details of enhanced minimum rates of wages for monthly rated, daily rated, and hourly rated employees under different categories are given in the attachment.
