Minimum Wage Revision and Arrears Handling in Gujarat
Recently, the minimum wage was revised in Gujarat with effect from 01.04.2014. However, the government notifications for the minimum wage revision came in May 2014. Since it is applicable from 01.04.2014, we have already made payments for the month of April 2014 and are now going to give arrears as per the minimum wage for that month to all the employees.
Handling Arrears for Employees Who Left
There are some employees who left the job in April 2014 (approximately 6 employees). Please advise on how to handle these cases as full and final settlements were already completed in April 2014, with about 4 or 5 days of work remaining in that month for the employees who left. All the employees who left are within the minimum wage ceiling.
PF Deductions for Arrears
If we provide them with arrears for April 2014, what should be done regarding PF deductions, considering that we had already processed the PF deductions in April 2014 as well?
Kindly provide suitable instructions.
