Worried About Background Checks? How a Past Employer's Threats Could Affect My New Job

bapiroy28feb
I have recently acquired a new job and am inquiring about background verification. I have been searching for the answer to my question for the past hour but have not found it.

Background Verification Concerns

I worked at a company for the last 2 years and have since left that organization. They provided me with a Relieving Letter, Experience Certificate, and PF. However, issues arose when I requested my security deposit (a refundable bond amount of 60,000). They were unwilling to return the money to me. Subsequently, I approached the consumer forum, and they have now refunded the amount. Nevertheless, they have threatened to provide false information about me to my next employer. They even mentioned blacklisting me from their company, among other things.

I am concerned about how this situation might impact my new job during the background verification process. Any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

Handling Unethical Practices from Previous Employers

Your last company adopted an unethical practice and could be sued as per the law. When applying to reputable companies, make sure to provide evidence that proves you had to fight your previous employer to get the security deposit. Most companies will accept this information after internal discussions with management. Additionally, consider looking for tier-2 companies that do not require background verification.
