Frustrated with Delayed PF Withdrawal: How Can I Get My Money and Hold My Employer Accountable?

anjanianjan
I've worked at Cognizant for 3 years and 10 months, and last October, I left the company and joined a new one. I submitted the PF withdrawal form to HR during the exit formalities. I started following up with HR after 5 months because I had neither received my PF amount nor any communication regarding this. After several follow-ups, one day I received an email stating that my withdrawal request had been submitted to the PF office. However, months passed, and once again, I didn't receive any further communication. So, I filed a grievance on the PF website and discovered that they had not submitted the withdrawal request even after 7 months.

Seeking Advice on PF Withdrawal Issues

Can you please suggest how I can retrieve my PF amount? Can I take any legal action against Cognizant for not submitting the PF withdrawal form and providing false information?

Thanks in advance.

I want to know one thing: have you received your PF account number? If you are eligible for it, then you might have received it. Based on that, if your employer is saying that he processed your PF, then go to the EPFO website and click on the Employee Claim Status option. Don't waste your time here.

You can transfer your PF accumulation to your new PF account online, for which the previous employer has no role.
