Employer Not Paying Salaries in a Startup: What Can Be Done About It?

kumar.y
What action can be taken against an employer if he is not paying the employees in a startup company (5 months old) that is part of a big group of companies.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Babu

Hi Kumar,

You can approach authorities under the Payment of Wages Act (L.O., ACL, DCL). They will solve your problem. Since you belong to Hyderabad, if you want more information, you can call me on 98483 08694.

Hi Babu,

I think you should go to the Labour Office, but not alone. There are lots of agents who have liaisons with the Labour Officer, etc. You can go alone, but if you do not have knowledge about the Wages Act, the Labour Officer might deceive you because they are greedy. They may demand money from the employer, and if the employer pays them, they may deceive you.

Please consider seeking assistance from someone knowledgeable in employment laws to ensure you are not taken advantage of.

Thank you.

Hi Babu,

I agree with Raj - Please go through the Labour Commissioner. This will help you, and you will receive your proper salary (in some cases more than you deserve) :D

Hi,

The employer can be prosecuted for non-payment of salary under the Payment of Wages Act. The matter should be taken up with the Labour Authorities in writing.
