Can Employees Limit Their EPF Contribution to 12% of 6,500 Instead of Their Full Salary?

Similar to the Employer EPF limit of 6,500, can the employee also restrict their contribution to 12% of 6,500 and not pay based on the basic salary?

For example, if an employee's basic salary is 10,000, and they wish to restrict PF deduction to 6,500, can this be implemented for the employee?

Thanks for your valuable feedback.

Yes, employees can also opt for the same, provided the employer agrees as per their standard policy Terms & Conditions when they determine the employee's Cost-to-Company (CTC).

Thank you.
