Confused About Missing EPS Funds? Steps to Claim Your Employee Pension Scheme Amount

I was working at Spectra Technovision Pvt. Ltd. for 9 months. My basic salary was Rs. 3800, and the deduction towards PF was Rs. 456 from my side and Rs. 456 from the company's side. My total deduction was Rs. 912. As I worked for 9 months, the total amount would be Rs. 8208 (without interest). I received Rs. 5705 towards PF.

I have come to know that the amount I received is only from EPF and not from EPS. Could you please advise me on what steps I should take to receive the EPS amount?

To claim the amount available in your EPS account with interest, please fill out Form 10C and submit it through your ex-employer to the PF authorities.

Dear Pon ji, with due respect to you, Sir, I would like to correct you as follows:

Pension Contribution Withdrawal

The queriest is entitled to the withdrawal of his pension contribution upon submitting Form 10C, as stated by you, but with no interest. He is entitled to it as per Para 14 Table D. However, he will not receive the full amount of his contribution.

Additionally, I would like to mention that the queriest has the option to obtain a scheme certificate.

Your company has paid you less than the minimum wage rate, nearly half of it. PF is also accordingly paid less. This is wrong on the part of your company. Even in a city like Mumbai, such things happen. HR personnel do not know the law, and the Government Labour Officer, PF officer, and ESI officer visit the company to collect HAFTA.

You are eligible to withdraw your pension contribution by submitting Form 10C. If you wish, you may opt for a scheme certificate instead of withdrawing the pension contribution. It is your decision.

Your one-month contribution to EPS will be 3800 x 8.33% = 316.54, rounded to 317. For 9 months, the total contribution will be 317 x 9 = 2853. Your withdrawal benefit will be 3800 x 1.02 = 3876, which is in excess of Rs. 1023 than your contribution.

You may either apply for a withdrawal benefit or a Scheme certificate, as per your choice. For both, Form 10-C can be used.

Understanding Scheme Certificates

A scheme certificate is the record of your service details. If you join another service, you can use the certificate to combine both services. If you do not join any further service, you can claim the withdrawal benefit as stated above by surrendering the scheme certificate.

I can explain to you what PF amount you received. You are absolutely right that you only received the PF amount and not the pension amount.

Your basic amount is 3800. So, 3800 * 15.67% = 595. This amount goes to your PF A/C (12% deducted from your salary and 3.67% contributed by the Employer).

Therefore, 595 * 9 = 5355. 5355 * 8.75% = 468 (8.75% is the current rate of interest on PF, so the interest for 12 months is 468, one month is 39, and for 9 months is 351).

So, the correct amount is 5705 for PF only; the pension amount is not withdrawable.

I worked in an organization for 2 years and then used Form 13 to transfer my PF, which I am able to see clubbed with my current PF, also using the UAN provided now.

Understanding EPS Withdrawal

For EPS, if I understand correctly, I need to submit Form 10C for either withdrawing or getting a scheme certificate from the PF office, and I need to submit the forms to my ex-employer. Is my understanding correct?

When you apply for the transfer of your PF account by submitting Form 13, your PF accumulation and EPS years are transferred to your new account via the same Form 13. When you apply for the transfer, you are neither eligible for the withdrawal of the EPS account nor for the scheme certificate.

I had worked in an IT company for over three and a half years and resigned long back. During my service, they had not issued PF statements. Recently, I submitted FORM 16 and FORM 10-C (EPS) and received some amount towards EPF. However, they have not issued the EPS amount and informed me that they won't issue it. EPS Withdrawal and Accumulation Queries

I am Ashwin, working for an MNC for the past 9 years across 3 organizations, and my PF membership is for 8 years. All my previous EPF and EPS amounts have been transferred to the current PF account. I am planning to withdraw my EPS (pension amount). My questions are as follows:

1. When I look at my PF statement, the EPS (pension) amount accumulated shows up only for the amount credited by the current organization. Will the amount credited by previous organizations I have worked for also be eligible when I withdraw EPS?

2. How can I check the total accumulation of EPS?

3. My current basic salary stands at 52,000, having completed 9 years of service and 8 years of PF membership with current EPS accumulation of 20,000 with a monthly contribution of 1,250. What would be the EPS (pension) amount I would get on withdrawal?

I would appreciate your help on this.

Hello Sir,

I have been contributing to my EPF at a basic rate of Rs. 30,000 per month since 4th September 2007. I wanted to know what my pension amount would be after my 58th birthday if I discontinue contributing to the EPF after completing 10 years.

If I choose to continue contributing, what would be my pension after reaching the age of 58, considering my date of birth is 5th April 1972?

Hi all, I worked in an IT company for 4 years. I submitted my PF and pension withdrawal forms in December 2015, and I received my PF amount credited. However, my pension withdrawal was rejected because there was no name on my canceled check leaf.

I then submitted a re-issue proforma with a new canceled check leaf and a Xerox of my Aadhar card, duly attested by both my employer and myself. When I check the claim status on the EPF portal, it shows that form 10c has been approved and the payment is under process, but this message has been displayed for the past 3 months. I also registered a grievance stating the same, but the response I received stated that they have not received the reissue claim form. My previous employer had properly forwarded all the documents.

Is there anything else I need to do from my end apart from this?
