Fire Safety in Our 30,000 sq ft Factory: How Many Extinguishers Are Required by Law?

We have a 30,000 sq ft food factory with 2 floors. I want to know how many fire extinguishers are installed/maintained in the factory area under applicable Acts/Rules/laws. Is it compulsory to install a fire hydrant system for us? The total height of the building is 42 ft (Ground floor 15 ft, 1st floor 15 ft, and 2nd floor 12 ft).

My advice to you is to engage a Certified Fire Engineer to decide on the type of extinguisher your factory would need. Do not compromise on this aspect. Even in cities like Mumbai, the lethargic attitude of CEOs/MDs/owners towards safety norms is often seen as a waste of resources. I insist once again: DO NOT COMPROMISE.
