Can a Company Let You Go After Training? Seeking Advice on Job Security in BPOs

Hi, I was working at Convergys. I completed the training and was working on the process. However, the process was shut down, and I was asked to leave with an offer of two months' salary in advance. My question is, can they really do that? Also, please suggest some BPO companies where I can have job security. I left a company thinking they offered me a higher salary, and now I am jobless. I cannot return to the previous company as I absconded from there, and I do not have a job at Convergys either. Your suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am Rakesh. I am also a victim of the same company. I was asked to leave the organization when the process was shut down. Now, I am working at Wipro, and I have friends here who were never asked to leave when their process was shut down.

Most companies, especially BPOs, have a rotational policy. If a project ends or is withdrawn, they shift employees to another process, providing some days for re-certification. It's beneficial for the company because they invest a lot of time and money in training employees, and they want to utilize their skills properly. It's strange to see how big brands are letting employees go. Anyways, I would suggest focusing on some reputable companies and securing a job as soon as possible.

Consider pursuing a career in a different industry rather than BPO, as absconding from one BPO job to another can be detrimental to your CV when applying for higher-level positions.
