Insights on Transitioning from IT to FMCG in India: Company Culture, Salary, and HR Experience

Nikita Gandhi
Dear Members,

If any of the members working as an HR from an FMCG background, I would like to know certain aspects as follows:

1. I am currently in an IT firm and wanting to switch to an FMCG segment or industry primarily to experience a different setup altogether.

2. What is the typical environment like in the company? Is it as open and communicative as IT companies are?

3. What is the kind of salary one can expect for a 4-5 years experienced professional in HR?

4. What is their leave system? What kind of salary structure do they implement? Is it the same as that practiced in IT companies?

These are some of the apprehensions that I would like to clear. If someone has experience working in an FMCG company, I would appreciate if they could share it.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Nikita

If you really want to work as a real HR professional, then consider the banking sector. As far as I know, banking is one of the few sectors where a professional degree and experience are required to work in HR.
