I've joined a new organization in Chennai where they calculate 12% PF on basic only up to Rs. 6500 (as per law). Whereas, in my previous organization in Mumbai, we used to calculate 12% PF on the whole basic of the employee. Why is there a difference? Can anyone help me by clarifying my doubt?
