Confused About Minimum Wages and DA in Amaravati? Seeking Official Sources and Rates from 2011-2014

Amravatiwala
Exactly which office declares minimum wages and DA for shops and establishments within the corporation limits of Amaravati, Maharashtra? Is there any official website of the Government of Maharashtra where minimum wages and DA are declared for the Corporation area of Amravati, Maharashtra? At which Government of Maharashtra website are the zone classifications fully elaborated? Please provide links. If there's no official government web resource, kindly let me know the rates of minimum wages and DA for each semi-annual period of 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 applicable for shops and establishments in the Municipal Corporation of Amaravati, Maharashtra.

You may visit the website of the Maharashtra Government at MAHASHRAMM.GOV.IN. The Labour Commissioner's office notifies the rates every six months. You may buy the new Minimum Wages Act publication, which contains the rates of minimum wages of the previous years for all scheduled employments.

Best of luck.

The name you have given does not open any website. I have tried to copy and paste it into the address bar of the browser. Kindly provide me with a clickable link if possible.

Minimum Wages for Employees in Amravati Corporation Area

It's better if someone can directly tell me the rates of Minimum Wages Basic for Unskilled, Semi-Skilled, and Skilled types of employees applicable for shops and establishments within the Amravati Corporation Area in Maharashtra.

Zone Classification of Amravati Corporation

Also, I want to know the zone classification of Amravati Corporation. It's D Class as per my knowledge.

Thanks, Mr. Nair. Where can I find the exact zone classification of my city, Amravati? How many zones are there in Maharashtra—3, 4, or 5—as far as the minimum wages law is concerned? Isn't there any live government resource where we can get authentic information from the Government of Maharashtra? The government must, on its own, send official information to the registered establishments whenever they make some changes. Government websites are not providing sufficient and necessary information.

I visited the website and tried independent searches right from the beginning. The issue with the website at nic.in is that they mention Zone I, II, III, and IV, but in the Shops and Establishments section, rates for Zone IV are not mentioned. I could not find a zone-wise list for Shops and Establishments.

Thank you.

Challenges in Accessing Labour Information in Maharashtra

One of the biggest problems that one will face while trying to find out what applies and what does not in the subject of labour (definitely with reference to Maharashtra - not sure about other states) is the lack of proper information on the Government/Department of Labour website. Whatever is found is mostly outdated. "Mahakamgar," which is supposed to be the official website, is far from being friendly and useful. One has to be highly tech-savvy and have infinite patience to get something that is somewhat useful.

After a lot of effort, I came across the Maharashtra Shops and Establishments Act of 2017 and the Rules framed thereunder in 2018. What I found, I now attach. Maybe someone will find it useful.

As you mentioned, your business is within the limits of the Municipal Corporation. You have a Shop Act license, so visit the Shop Act office; they will guide you better. You can purchase the Maharashtra Minimum Wages Act book to determine your minimum wages and Dearness Allowance.
