Can I Change My Stated Reason for Leaving TCS Without Future Employers Finding Out?

shuvayan
Hi, I resigned from my job recently at TCS as I had to come home to help my father in building our own house and also because I wanted to prepare for some higher studies. However, in my resignation letter, I have only cited higher education as the reason (I didn't want to discuss the personal reasons with my manager). My question is, can I state personal reasons as the reason for quitting TCS instead of higher education (it seems a bit lame)? Will my prospective employers be able to find out my true reason for resigning?

Having sent in the resignation, the reconsideration with respect to the cause that would have been written is no longer relevant now. I wonder if your resignation has also been accepted by now. In general, it is the relationship with your higher-ups that you enjoy, which will be instrumental in deciding whether or not you should confide in your boss regarding a particular situation.

Dear S.K.,

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I have already left my previous organization. What I wanted to know is, when I sit for subsequent interviews (jobs/B-schools), can I mention personal reasons for quitting and not higher education (as mentioned in my resignation letter)?
